The Prettiest Star Tee

This brand began with me doodling on t-shirts for my kids. I left the face blank on this design for my 5-year-old son (and littlest Bowie fan) to sketch his own version. The colors he chose inspired my final illustration.

Because pretty is in the eye of the beholder, you will find my son Bleu’s version in the 2nd photo. I included the "morning star" he sketched because Bowie was obsessed with everything bright & celestial. He once described the sun as a "yellow dime on high."

Bowie’s wild + groundbreaking striped costume came from his love of Japanese Kabuki theater and was designed by Kansai Yamamoto for the 1973 Aladdin Sane tour. The Prettiest Star is one of Bowie’s most sincere love songs, written to propose to his future wife over the phone.

This tee was printed on 100% cotton using eco-friendly water based inks.
