Clouds in My Coffee

Carly Simon found her beginnings in folk music, playing alongside James Taylor when they were still teenagers. The two performed in a sea-worn coffeehouse on Martha’s Vineyard called the Moon-Cusser.

One morning on a plane, Carly looked down into her cup of coffee and saw a fleeting image, a phrase worth saving. She wrote it down, not knowing it would become a metaphor for dreams that drift just out of reach, and the confusing aspects of love and life. In time, that simple phrase would find its way into the song that put her on the charts.

I designed this for those who take their coffee with clouds and their dreams in stride.

Each tee includes an illustrated card with a scannable Spotify code — leading to the songs that inspired the Lyrical Life collection.

This illustrated tee is:

  • Made of ring spun cotton fabric with 100% cotton threads

  • Garment dyed and pre-shrunk 

  • Made with OEKO-TEX certified low-impact dyes

  • Ethically and sustainably made in small batches using eco friendly production methods and printed with water-based inks.

The Lyrical Life Collection

My wish as a kid was to grow up and live a life you could write songs about. I read through every cassette sleeve insert and lived vicariously through lyrics. Each album was a memoir, played through my boombox. I wanted to grow up and live a lyrical life. 

I grew up(ish) and realized most music is biographical and every life is song-worthy. You just have to be brave enough to sing about it. These new styles celebrate the words of our favorite songwriters who sang about it all — ambition and burnout, dreams fulfilled and the ones unrecognized, the simple ways we show love, the power of friendship, growing up, and new beginnings. 

I often wear lyrics on my person, using the words of my favorite songwriters like spells. I tuck a line from Joni into my coat pocket before meetings or keep a slip of paper with Stevie’s words in my locket. These tees were designed to be lyrics you could live in.

Sustainably Sourced

We only use low impact, water-based inks and dyes. We source from sustainable apparel production companies that prioritize eco-friendly manufacturing methods, such as wind-powered plants, reduced water and electricity usage and nearly waste-free production methods.

Ethically Produced
