What does it mean to

make a

big noise?

Chuckles and Bleu exists to encourage younger generations to find their own voice through the exploration of music. Music is a powerful art form that’s contagious and universal. Songs unite us through shared human experiences, nostalgia and storytelling.

Nina Simone wrote songs that became battle cries for the civil rights movement. She used songs instead of bombs and guns by telling stories that needed to be told, in a format that people could accept and understand. Nina protested acts of violence and oppression against black communities in the segregated south with her lyrics alone.

Helen Reddy’s I AM WOMAN became an empowering anthem to the second-wave feminist movement. Dolly Parton inspired equality in the workplace, John Lennon and Yoko Ono sang about peace, Patti Smith wrote about saving the environment and Neil Young protested war.

The best kind of music leads to action and social change.

  • Graphic tees and onesies designed to inspire confidence, conversation, and a love for music.

Chuckles and Bleu began as an idea that danced around the right side of my brain for years— always to the beat of Dreaming by Blondie.

When my daughter took an interest in music several years ago, I followed her example and returned to the art form I loved as a child — songwriting.

This is a passion project for my lady rocker, Chuckles, and my gentle boy, Bleu. Each design was sketched at my kitchen table with a baby on my lap, to the tunes my daughter strums on her guitar.
